Our History: Raising the bar in electronic component distribution
Beginning in 1984, President and Founder Don Baker started his odyssey in electronic components distribution. Branching out in 2003, Don founded CTrends (formerly known as Component Trends) based on the knowledge that he could provide high-quality electronic components to fill the gap in many industrial manufacturing supply chains.
As the industry evolved, Don began to see gaps in supply chain reliability, and he has worked continuously to develop solutions for those deficiencies. Pulling together a group of like-minded industry experts, CTrends set out to enhance and secure the electronics component market. CTrends was the first company to provide an Attorney General approved mechanism that enabled the reporting of substandard part suppliers.
By the time the U.S. Senate began to study the issue of counterfeit electronics, CTrends had already worked with the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) to draft Risk Mitigation standards for distributors.
These early successes led to involvement in subsequent, ground-breaking developments in the certifications required to secure electronic component supply chains.
CTrends remains at the cutting edge of industry certifications, creating several pilot programs to test, mark and retain data for each electronic component, creating an unbroken chain of intelligence for each part.
CTrends continually invests in people, equipment and advanced database technology to offer the highest level of service and quality available. CTrends continues to raise the bar in electronic component supply chain management and distribution.
